Child Advocacy Studies (CAST): An Exploration of Need and Impact

Child Advocacy Studies (CAST) curriculum has the potential to improve responses to child maltreatment through innovative practices in post-secondary curriculum. Research has shown that there is very little academic engagement in universities, colleges, and graduate programs across the United States with regards to child maltreatment, leading to graduates entering the workforce lacking sufficient skills to best respond to cases of child abuse and neglect, which in turn results in poor case resolution and high overturns in frontline child protection employment.

The National Partnership to End Interpersonal Violence Across the Lifespan (NPEIV) invites you to join us for a two-hour presentation on “Child Advocacy Studies (CAST): An Exploration of Need and Impact.” During this presentation, attendees will become familiar with the CAST curriculum and importance of it on a national scale, learn about the CAST model for implementation in higher education, be able to examine the findings of pertinent CAST research, and discuss the current considerations to CAST expansion and growth in various content areas within their academic institutions.
