The prevention of sexual abuse requires a multi-disciplinary collaborative response that incorporates evidence-based strategies for all impacted persons. However, prevention efforts are often impaired by the numerous myths regarding sexual abuse and those who commit sexual offenses. This presentation will provide an overview on the dynamics of sexual abuse, facts about those who commit sexual abuse, and recommendations for maximizing prevention efforts through collaboration.
